The 150th Jubilee Celebrations.

On Saturday we came to school to celebrate the 150th Jubilee of Fernridge School. We started with an opening ceremony and powhiri where the Kapa Haka and choir performed. Then after morning tea we went to class and had a 'mystery bag challenge'. We had to construct a pom pom launcher just from the items in the bag. We then had a delicious lunch and launched 150 balloons into the air.

School Jubilee Dress Up Day

Today we have come to school dressed like they used to in the olden days. We tried to look very serious as we didn't want to get the cane or the strap!!!!

Our Trip to Cobblestones.

Last Tuesday we visited Cobblestones Museum in Greytown. We found out what it was like in school in the olden days. We also had a ride in an old car and did some printing on an old printing press.

It was a wonderful day and thank you to all parent and grandparent helpers as without you we wouldn't have been be able to go.
